Scott McCallum (born May 2, 1950) is a member of the Republican Party who served as the 43rd Governor of U.S. state of Wisconsin from 2001 to 2003.

[edit] Background
McCallum was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the eldest of four children. He graduated from Macalester College in 1972 with a degree in Economics and Political Science. He obtained his masters degree in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University in 1974. He is a Christian Scientist.
[edit] Political career
In 1976, McCallum won a seat in the Wisconsin State Senate. McCallum won the Republican nomination for the United States Senate in 1982, but lost in the general election to incumbent William Proxmire.
During his 10 years (1976-1986) as state senator, McCallum was allied with the New Republican Conference, a now-dead movement of GOP activists who were fiscal conservatives, but liberal on social issues.
In 1986, McCallum ran for Lieutenant Governor on the Republican ticket with Tommy Thompson running for Governor. The Thompson-McCallum ticket served the state of Wisconsin for over a decade; they were elected for four terms in office.
In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed Thompson to be Secretary of Health and Human Services, making McCallum Governor of Wisconsin. McCallum then selected State Senator Margaret Farrow of Pewaukee, Wisconsin to be his new lieutenant governor.
McCallum was defeated in the 2002 election. McCallum ran against Democrat Jim Doyle and Libertarian Ed Thompson (brother of Tommy). He was defeated by Doyle.
McCallum is currently CEO of Aidmatrix, a non-profit based in Texas that helps match charitable corporate donations of surplus food and supplies with organizations that need them. He lives in Lodi, Wisconsin.

McCallum is married to Laurie McCallum. They have three children: Zachary, Rory and Cara.
Laurie is an attorney and has served as a commissioner of the Wisconsin Personnel Commission and the Wisconsin Labor and Industry Review Commission. Zach graduated from the dental school at Marquette University in 2007; he played soccer for four years for Marquette and was named to the Conference USA academic all-conference team. Rory graduated from Drake University with a degree in business administration in 2007; he played on the Drake University Soccer team and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference academic honor roll. Rory is a student at the UW-Milwaukee School of Business and is scheduled to graduate in 2009. Cara is a pre-dental student at Marquette University, playing on the Marquette women's club soccer team. She is scheduled to graduate in 2009 and will attend Baylor College of Dentistry.
